Puma x Olympique de Marseille

When global sportswear manufacturer Puma secured the jersey sponsorship for top football club Olympique de Marseille, they knew they would need a launch with a big visual impact. Puma had been building anticipation for their new partnership with some epic trailers featuring, among others, the legendary Diego Maradona. The event where the new jerseys were presented to the world had to meet those expectations.

Puma-OM trailer

Our French print partner, GRAPHIK, saw Re-board® as the material of choice for the range of displays required for this glamorous event. They told us: “We have a long-standing relationship with the agency employed by Puma. They give us a lot of freedom in the choice of materials – as long as the end product is flawless, and it fits their budget! For GRAPHIK, this means that we often use Re-board®. We have been a Re-board Technology® partner for years, and we’ve had a great experience using their products.”

Versatility was a key selling point. Re-board® can be easily assembled and disassembled, which is perfect for a one-day event. And after it has served its purpose, Re-board® can be recycled as paper. GRAPHIK told us: “As we have already realised many stands, pop-up stores and POS displays for the agency, they were very familiar with the strength and capabilities of Re-board®.” With the client on board, the next challenge was to deliver a standard of execution to match the design of the brand-new jerseys.

Quality and Ease of Execution

The venue of the launch was a beautiful historic mansion on the French Riviera. The theme of the new PUMA x OM collection is the sea, so the mansion with its stunning views of the Mediterranean was a natural choice. White and blue are the traditional OM club colours, which are featured on the new jerseys. These elements were all brought together in the design of the Re-board® installation supplied by GRAPHIK.

As they told us: “For this project, we were required to create partitions which could serve as decorations. Several objects needed to be dressed – this included furniture, an aquarium and even naval artillery! We also had to make displays to measure. The direct printing and the endless ways of shaping Re-board® offer flexibility which is perfect for this type of project. Other advantages are how light and yet rigid it is, the possibility to transport displays as a flat-pack, and the ease of setting up at the site.”

This Re-board® structure, an “M” for Marseille, resembles both a wave and a pulse

To the people of Marseille, the colour blue represents the Mediterranean, which has been the lifeblood of the historic city. This colour was featured extensively in the Re-board® displays, which were designed to perfectly complement the garments they displayed. Because you can print directly onto Re-board®, GRAPHIK was able to deliver a top-quality finish.

Lounge area made entirely out of Re-board® (except the cushions!)

The event’s showrooms were furnished entirely with Re-board®. That includes the displays for the jerseys, as well as the shelves and the base of the fully functional seats. The cool colours of the backdrop brought out the iconic design of the OM jerseys. This created the perfect atmosphere for the representatives from Puma and the OM team to mingle with their guests. This meant that GRAPHIK earned very positive feedback from all the stakeholders in the launch party.

Re-board Technology FESPA 2018 exhibition

Re-board Technology FESPA 2018 exhibition

FESPA Global Print Expo, Europe’s largest print exhibition, was held in Berlin this year. A spectacular showcase for screen and
digital wide format print, textile printing and signage, the event was held over four days in Germany’s capital. Visitors from
across the globe were given the opportunity to experience the latest products and innovations on display from over 700 exhibitors,
including Re-board Technology.

With over 20,000 visitors arriving from 142 countries, we knew we had to make an impact. We wanted to demonstrate both the quality
and versatility of our outstanding Re-board product.

To achieve this, we sought the expertise of Lyon-based large-format digital printer, ATC Groupe, working closely with their Artistic
Director, Audrey Fonterme. Audrey and her team were tasked with developing imaginative concepts for both the exhibition stand and
the expo’s front entrance hall. They were given complete creative freedom and asked to experiment with products from across the Re-
board range.

Having the chance to create a stand design project on a blank page has been a great experience for me. Thinking about its
circulation, the way people interact with it, its graphics of course and its lighting – all these aspects are so stimulating for a
designer!

ATC’s remit included signs and exhibits made from brown (craft cardboard look and texture), black, premium, thin and thick versions
of Re-board. Using the full range of products enabled us to demonstrate different applications and techniques used to achieve the
extraordinary.

Audrey was asked to finish with quality print, colour, varnish, cut and fold examples, and experiment with both square corners and
round edges. Importantly, she was asked to make them beautiful.

My choice of graphic style was Art Deco – very trendy now and at the same time ageless. It allowed me to show all the
capabilities of Re-board with its different surface appearances (natural kraft, white and especially black) and to bring more warmth
to the display

Audrey and her team did not let us down. The expo’s entrance hall became the home of several Re-board ‘pods’. These impressive,
compact structures gave visitors a place to sit, talk and take photos. It also gave people their first taste of Re-board on the day.

The stand hosted a Re-board inspired meeting space – a desk and chair arrangement that became the perfect place to sit and talk with
visitors. Highly impressive, the meeting ‘room’ sat alongside more carefully crafted ‘pods’ and interactive signage.

FESPA 2018 was a huge success. Despite being in the furthest room away from entrance, we were repeatedly sought thanks to our
entrance hall pods. Exceptional design meant visitors were truly engaged and excited by the prospect of devising and designing their
own experiential campaigns. To be able to experience Re-board first-hand was hugely valuable, and has led to some exciting
opportunities.

During the week at FESPA we were able to talk structural design, sustainability and print industry business development with
visitors from over 100 countries. It was four very intense days for the team in Berlin and at the end of the show we were very happy
that it took just two of us to dismantle the entire stand – all in under two hours!

Colgate Moroccan Tour

Colgate Moroccan Tour

Oral hygiene giants, Colgate, needed a memorable and sustainable solution for the launch of an exciting new campaign in Morocco. Travelling from city to city, Colgate’s dental professionals would offer free dental care to Moroccans across the country.
For the tour, organised and managed by Gold Agency, Colgate commissioned a custom-made tour bus. The inside was furnished with Re-board, and designed and fitted by Re-board® partner, Electroprint.

Inside the bus the walls, shelves, partitions and even doors were built from Re-board®. On arrival, dental professionals sat at Re-board® tables, with Re-board displays demonstrating healthy brushing techniques behind them. As check-ups took place inside the coach, branded Re-board® displays of Colgate products sat beside dentist chairs.

Easy to assemble and disassemble, the Re-board® display products proved to be the perfect solution to Colgate’s tour requirements. They were lightweight, making them easy to carry and transport, and durable. As well as convenience, Electroprint’s Re-board® solution reduced Colgate’s environmental impact, with the lightweight materials adding less weight to the coach. Due to Re-board®’s natural components, the displays were also able to be simply recycled at the end of the tour.

Re-board® was the perfect material to bring our designs to life. Brilliantly versatile and strong, we were able to use Re-board® to give Colgate a memorable and distinctive solution.

Fossil Q Display

Fossil Q Display

In search of an impactful display for their new ‘Q’ range of smartwatches, retail giants, Fossil Group, approached our Australian print partners, Next Printing, for a solution. The design was creative, clean and smart, clearly displaying the key features of the watches and activity trackers.
Fossil initially produced the display using a painted MDF construction. However, they were concerned about the cost and weight of the structure, as well as the time needed to manufacture and then install it.

Listening carefully to the client’s concerns, Next offered Re-board® as the solution. By using Re-board®, Next were able to reduce the cost of the display, and provide a swift, lightweight replacement. The stunning Q shaped boards now had the design printed directly on them and were quick and simple to assemble.

We keep using Re-board® again and again. Every need of our client had was perfectly solved by using this amazing product: short production lead time, low weight and easy assembly and transportation

Re-board® helps Austrian fashion sports shop attract young people

Recently Gigasport’s (www.gigasport.at) flagship store in Graz, Austria, had one of its 6 floors completely refitted in Re-board. The project was made by Austrian Re-board licensee Reproteam (www.reproteam.at ), from design through production to installation.

Michael Hansbauer, Managing Director and owner of the company comments:

“We work very closely with Gigaprint’s department for shop design and decoration. When they approached us looking for a material for a shop design that would appeal to the “snowboard crowd” we showed them Re-board® and they immediately loved its look, feel, green image, stability and light weight”

After completion they gave a press conference /opening party inaugurating the Board Department. Articles appeared in all major regional newspapers and a regional television station ran a feature item. Reproteam’s designer Mario Anderhuber spent a mere 20 hours in total to complete the project . The production time was approximately two weeks with four employees, including installation in the shop. Around 200 sheets of 3200x1600x16 mm brown Re-board® was used.

Depending on the feedback from the customers – and it looks promising so far – most of Gigasport’s 30 outlets may undergo a similar make-over. The expected life time for the shop is up to three years, according to the customer.
